OK, here we go again. I'm excited to present this years point race for Maryland State. Maryland State is probably the biggest and best tournament on the East Coast. It's my favorite tournament and I try to never miss it. The points race will consist of 5 Tuesday tournaments starting Tuesday March 15, 2016 to Tuesday April 12, 2016. You gain points by participating in tournaments. We'll be using a modified points system from previous years. Let me know if you have any questions about your ranking.  and 2 points for attendance. The prize, only redeemable for 2016 Maryland State events..... TBD (I'm still working on it) Tuesday April 19, 2016 will be a Bring Your Partner (not a point race tournament) so partners can get ready for Maryland. If you don't have a partner you have time to find one. Start asking people. If you can't find one we'll figure something out. I encourage everybody to play. I'll keep track of everybody's points that plays in the tournaments. And remember to have fun. Any questions?

OK. We're going to use the same prize setup as last year.
1st - $100
2nd - $60
3rd - $40
If 2 people tie for 1st, we'll split it. $80/$80/$40.
If 3 people tie we'll split it 3 ways.
Remember only redeemable for Maryland State Events.
But I'm going to add a bonus for highest placing beginner ($50). If a beginner takes 1st they'll get the prize and the bonus, if they go to Maryland. If not, it goes to the next placing beginner going to Maryland.
I think I might reserve Tuesday April 12 format as a Pick Your Partner (PYP). We'll start the pick with the people with the highest attendance but least amount of points. Maybe. This is just an idea, but it seems like a good way to shake things up.

I can't decide if I should just start from the bottom of the points race and go from there. Or start with People with the least amount of points that have missed 1 or less tournaments.
